Selena Gomez is an internationally well-known actress and performer. Her Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her most successful shows. Her full name is Selena Marie Gomez. Her birth date was July 22, 1992, in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Her mother was only sixteen at the time Selena became a mother. She got her first showbiz job at age 9 in the role of Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. In the process, she played with the world's most anthropomorphic and reptiles in the form of a purple dinosaur. Selena worked on several episodes from seasons 7 and 8 between 2001 and 2003. Interesting facts: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends at the time as well, worked alongside Selena. Selena Gomez, after she quit the show, auditioned unsuccessfully for several TV shows and films. In 2003 she was given an unimportant role in Mini Spies 3: (Spy Kids 3D Game Over), and in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire in the role of Julie. The role as Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her in the 2006 film Brain Zapped, for which she also wrote a music.
